Let me introduce myself. My name is Jill and I have been a makeup artist since I was 24 and I'm turning 48 soon;/ I started my career right out of college with Clinique then progressed to the most artsy line on the market today, Make Up For Ever. I then moved to Chicago and was with Mac Cosmetics for 10 years and then moved on to being a independent makeup artist working in film and TV production and print for 12 years.
I also was a celebrity makeup artist but a later blog on that. :/
I now work for a VERY youthful company, Too Faced Cosmetics, as a market specialist in beautiful Southern Oregon. I am probably the oldest freelancer that they have and I'm okay with that. All the Instagram and You Tubers you see and can't relate to aren't the ones buying this makeup. It's YOU! The women over 40! And the cosmetic companies know that!
And guess what? I feel your pain when you walk into a department store or beauty mega-store and want to find the right person or product that works for you.
I'm talking about us ladies over 40...I hear it everyday, "I don't want to look old", "I can't wear eyeshadow anymore", "Powder makes me look cakey" and sometimes with tears in their eyes. It's heartbreaking because these women are beautiful and aren't seeing what great features they have!
I'm here to help! I will be reviewing products and giving tricks and tips to make your makeup and skincare routine stream-lined, fast and easy!
Not to brag but not only do I have over 20 years of makeup artistry experience, I have also worked for Chanel, Clarins, Benefit, Smashbox, Tarte, Philosophy, Urban Decay, Anastasia, Pur Minerals and accessory brands Clarasonic, Tweezerman, Beauty Blender and many more! I know a lot of stuff about skincare and makeup and have real-life experience.
And I love helping people. I am an educator and trainer at heart and don't keep my makeup artists tips and tricks a secret.
So lets get started! I take suggestions and questions and comments. Don't hold back! It will definitely help this blog and if I can't find an answer, I have about 1 million makeup friends who I can ask!
